Princeton, NJ – Pyramid Vision, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sarnoff Corporation, today announced that its video forensics toolkit, VideoDetective™, was utilized by the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) Crime Scene Investigations Unit to successfully solve a homicide case. VideoDetective is a portable video-processing lab used by law enforcement agencies around the country to dramatically improve the quality of live or pre-recorded video images.

In response to a local homicide in Sussex County, NJ, the NJSP Crime Scene Investigations Unit contacted the Evesham, NJ Police Department, a local precinct equipped with a VideoDetective toolkit. The Evesham Police Department was provided with a digital video clip containing evidence pointing to a possible suspect.

Using VideoDetective, detectives were able to upload the raw video footage, edit a specific area of interest and produce enhanced still imagery by way of frame-by-frame analysis.  In this case, the video images were enhanced clearly enough to depict the suspect's vehicle traveling to and from the crime scene.  As a result of this indisputable evidence, an arrest was made and a jury convicted the suspect of 1st degree murder.
